Museum Exhibit with Animals

New Display About Emma Norman-Todd

Emma Norman-Todd Display A new display about Emma Norman-Todd, in celebration of Black History Month, was added in February. Created by Museum Studies student Noelle Belanger, the display honors CMU?s earliest known African American student and graduate, Emma Norman-Todd. Emma was an Old Settlers descendant, a native of Remus, an Isabella County teacher, and an important member of the communities of Mecosta and Isabella Counties. The display is in the Museum's lobby and available to view whenever Rowe Hall is open.


OMNI High School Visits the Museum

Omni High School Visits the Museum Students from OMNI High School in Carrollton, Michigan, visited the Museum on February 28, compliments of the John R. and Constance M. Harkins Community Fund of the Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation busing grant. Students experienced a modified program at the Schoolhouse and learned about 1960s art through the Kozmic Clash: Peace, Love, and Outer Space exhibit.


HON 321NN In Action

Honors 321NN Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary welcomed students in Honors 321NN on Friday, February 7. Students learned about the history of the Sanctuary, toured exhibits and the conservation lab, and visited the C. Patrick Labadie collection at the nearby library as part of their exploration of Great Lakes maritime history. Kids and Culture: Love in Nature

Kids and Culture: Love in Nature ?Kids and Culture ? Love in Nature? explored the biodiversity of male and female plants and the unique courtship habits of wildlife in Spring. Visitors also wrote love notes to take home. The February 8 event was co-sponsored by Migizi Economic Development, WCFX-FM, and the Rotary Club of Mt. Pleasant.


Museum Assistant: Evelyn Mackey

Evelyn Mackey The Museum's newest assistant, Evelyn Mackey, is a freshman majoring in Public and Nonprofit Administration and minoring in Legal Studies. As a result of doing historical interpretation, she became interested in working at a museum, especially in the administration side. Welcome to the team, Evelyn!
