PEAK Students Serve as Prototype Testers

PEAK Students Testing Musical Exhibit PEAK Students served as prototype testers for the the new hands-on exhibit, Feel the Music. Students provided valuable input as to what is desired, what is working well, and, importantly, what did not work. This input has been embraced and the display is being perfected in preparation for the grand opening on April 22 at 4:00pm.

Honors Students Put Their Stamp On The World

Honors With Earth CMU Honors Program students helped museum staff move the earth and the moon! Under the direction of Cultural Resource Management student Brad Davis, the Honors Students were integral in providing assistance so placement of the earth and moon could be determined. They also put their stamp on the world--literally--by stamping the Action C and other icons on the North Pole. Some of the students who participated are pictured at the right. Thank you Kelli Chapman, Jade Driscoll, Noelle Gray, Veronica Gregory, Tess Santoro, and Emily Yoder!

Alumni and Community Partnerships

Lionheart Vintage Clothing LionHeart Productions, a not-for-profit theatre company, has loaned some of its vintage clothing collection to the Museum. Museum Studies (MST) alumnus Hannah Jenkins Gulick and her family are heavily involved in LionHeart. We appreciate this generous loan and think it's pretty groovy! For more information about LionHeart Productions, visit www.lionheartproductions.org/index.php, or Facebook at keyword: LionHeart Productions.

Community Member Loans Honey Bear

Buffing Honey Bear An anonymous donor has provided the Museum with a long-term loan of Honey Bear, the vintage Volkswagen bus. This has provided educational experiences for Museum Studies students and community members in vintage vehicle preparation, maintenance, and painting. Honey Bear becomes part of the Kozmic Clash exhibit in April. You can get your first up-close look at Honey Bear during the Exhibit Opening on April 22, 2019, at 4:00pm.

Isabella County Historical Society

Donald Schmidt The Isabella County Historical Society is collaborating with the Museum to create a display for the Kozmic Clash exhibit that connects Isabella County to the events of 1969. Local Armed Forces members will be recognized for making the ultiamte sacrifice for our country during the Vietnam War. Among them will be Captain Donald Schmidt (1939-1966), a Beal City native and CMU All-Conference football player. He was the first CMU ROTC graduate to lose his life in the Vietnam War.
