Oaxaca Mexico educator visit The Bohannon Schoolhouse/Gerald L. Poor Museum welcomed educators from Mexico on Tuesday. The Colegio LaSalle in Oaxaca is a Pre-K-9th grade bilingual school. All students receive instruction for a half day in English and half day in Spanish. Deasy Lizbeth Martinez Lopez (6th grade teacher), Arely Natalee Morales Cruz (middle school social studies teacher), and Misael Antonio Bravo Castellanos (middle school principal) visited the schoolhouse to learn about local one room schools of the past. Fifteen of the school's 9th graders are currently living with Mt. Pleasant families who also have 9th graders and they are attending school with them. Thanks to Norma Bailey for organizing this schoolhouse visit.
