Museum Exhibit

Downtown Exhibits

Window display The Mount Pleasant community created Central Normal School 125 years ago. The Museum, the CMU Alumni Association, and the City of Mt. Pleasant are recognizing the community's integral part in forming CMU by installing historical exhibits for the downtown businesses' display windows. Please take a moment when downtown to thank the business and community members for all they do and learn a little about the community's and CMU's shared history.

Name the Truck Contest

Transport Truck Give our newest donation a nickname! This summer Sam Staples generously donated a 1920 Transport Truck Company stake bed truck made right here in Mount Pleasant. In the future, the truck will be visiting K-12 schools in the area and it needs a nickname! Visit the Museum's website to submit your entry.

125 Years through 125 Voices Exhibit

The Museum has loaned many historical artifacts to the Clarke Historical Library's exhibit entitled "125 Years through 125 Voices." Dr. Jay Martin and Dr. Brittany Fremion were the exhibit's opening speakers, highlighting the usage of their oral history project that lends voices to those who have been part of the CMU experience. The exhibit is free and open to the public in the Clarke Historical Library, Park Library building, through January 2018. For more information, please go to the exhibit website.
