Target Group Definition: Based on Subscriber List

This Target Group Definition wizard lets you define a target group of the type Subscriber List that can be used in the recipients wizard to define the recipients of a job.

The wizard for a target group of the type "Subscriber List" has multiple pages:
General, Source, Source Details, Parameters, Input Layout, Input Preview, and Summary.

The top row of the wizard displays links to each of these pages. The page that is currently open is marked with a highlighted background color. Depending on the choices made on some of the wizard pages, other pages may become disabled or may be shown in different versions. If a wizard page is disabled, then it means that this page is not necessary with the current choices and can safely be ignored.

Source Page: Select Subscriber List

This screen displays all available subscriber lists in a tree structure. The tree shows the datasets in the Subscriber Warehouse, and in these datasets, any categories and subscriber lists found in that dataset. Only datasets that include at least one subscriber list are shown at all. In turn, within the datasets, only those categories that contain at least one subscriber list are shown. Datasets and/or categories that contain only Linked LISTSERV lists or that have no lists at all, are not shown in the tree.

Datasets and category folders are shown with an icon (if the dataset category is closed) or icon (if the dataset or category is open). Click on the icon to close or respectively open a folder (double-clicking the folder name will not work).

If a dataset is selected in the tree, then a short description containing the dataset's name and internal description will be displayed to the right.

If a subscriber list is selected in the tree, then a short description about that list (with name and internal description) is also displayed to the right. The act of selecting a list in the tree is the purpose of this page. The selected list is the list on which the target group shall be based, meaning that whenever this target group is used in a recipient definition of a mail job, the job is delivered to the subscribers of the list selected here. Therefore, the wizard cannot proceed until a subscriber list has been selected in the tree.
