Define Recipients: Send to a Recipient Target Group

To access the recipients wizard for a given job: From the job's workflow page, click on Define Recipients.
Or from the job list, select the desired job, then in the job details pane, select the Summary tab and click on the Edit link in the Recipients section.

To access the recipients wizard for a given A/B-split job: On the A/B-Split Job Details page, click the Edit link in the Recipients section.

The Define Recipients wizard allows the defining of recipients that will receive the email message specified in the job when the job is finally sent.

The wizard has five pages: Options, Source, Source Details, Recipients Details, Advanced Settings, and Summary.

The top row of the wizard displays links to these five pages. The page that is currently open is marked with a highlighted background color. Depending on the choices made on some of the wizard pages, other pages may become disabled or may be shown in different versions. If a wizard page is disabled, then it means that this page is not necessary with the current choices and can safely be ignored.

Source Details Page: Supply Target Group Parameter Values

Depending on the settings of the target group parameters, the values will need to be entered in different ways. A list of fields with any of the following types may appear:

Some special kinds of target groups define their recipients by basing the recipient selection on the actions that the recipients have performed in respect to a previous mailing (as was recorded by the tracking abilities of LISTSERV Maestro). If the selected target group is of this kind, then you will have to first select the Source Job to base the target group on.

From the Source Job drop-down menu, select the original job (of the previous mailing) on which the recipient selection will be based. The tracking events collected for this original job will be employed to determine which recipients will be part of this new job (the follow-up job).

After you have selected the job, the screen may also query you for the Event Period (in some cases the event period may already have been predefined by the data administrator who created the target group, so query will not appear). When reviewing the tracking events collected for the selected source job, only events that fall inside of the defined period will be considered, all others are ignored.

To define the period, you must define both the From and To dates and times. For both you have the choice to select either the corresponding maximum threshold (which is The delivery time of the original source job for the From value and The delivery time of the follow-up job for the To value), or you can choose to specify your own date and time for any of the two. In this case, you also need to input the date and time in the format as specified (where the time is optional, if you want to specify full days).
