Customize Page Layout: Subscriber Area State Tab
This screen shows the Subscriber Area State tab that is only available for the subscriber area page.
There are two panes on this page, which are described in more detail below.
At the top right of this page, there is a drop-down list labelled "Currently Customizing:" that contains an entry for the subscriber area layout, and an entry for the layout of each list in the dataset. Navigating from the layout currently being customized to the layout of a different object (the subscriber area or a list) in the same dataset can be done quickly by making a selection in this drop-down list.
Left Pane: Selected Page / Template
The left pane displays a drop-down menu that shows the currently selected layout element. When
the Subscriber Area State tab is displayed, the currently selected element is always the subscriber area
page. Below the drop-down menu, a short description of the subscriber area page is displayed.
By opening the drop-down menu, it can be used to navigate to a different layout element of the
dataset simply by selecting the desired element.
Right Pane: Subscriber Area State Tab
The right pane displays several tabs, with the Subscriber Area State tab currently being the active tab. The Subscriber Area State tab is a special tab that is only available if the currently selected layout element is the subscriber area page.
The controls on this tab can be used to simulate a certain subscriber and list state that will impact the preview of the subscriber area page, which is shown when the Draft Version or Production Version tabs are selected. With this mechanism, different states can be experimented with and tested how each state impacts the subscriber area page layout (by viewing the corresponding preview after defining the state on this tab).
The states that can be defined here are corresponding to the lists in the subscriber area. For each list, the following states can be set:
- Subscribed State: Check to simulate how the
page looks for a dataset subscriber who is subscribed to the given list. Uncheck to
simulate a dataset subscriber who is not subscribed to the list.
- Public Access State: Select the access state
to simulate for the list. With this, how the page looks to a dataset subscriber can be verified (with
the subscription state defined) if the
list has the selected state.
- Maintenance State: Check to simulate that the given list is currently "Closed for maintenance". Uncheck to simulate that the list is not closed. With this, how the subscriber area page looks for a dataset subscriber can be verified (with the subscription state defined) if the list is closed for maintenance or not.
