User-Defined or System Template
- To access the "Content Templates" subtree, select Explorer -> Content Templates from the menu, or if you are already in the LISTSERV Maestro explorer, select the Content Templates node in the explorer tree.
- To preview a given user-defined template or system template, select its node in the respective User-Defined Templates or System Templates subtree.
- To create a new user-defined template from scratch, select New -> Content Template -> Empty Template from the menu (or go via the right-click menu of the parent template folder in the explorer tree).
- To create a new user-defined template by uploading a previously downloaded template ZIP file, select New -> Content Template -> Import Template from the menu (or go via the right-click menu of the parent template folder in the explorer tree).
- To convert an existing standard content template into an advanced click-and-fill template, select the desired template node in the user-defined templates subtree, then select Edit -> Convert Into Click-and-Fill Template from the menu (or go via the right-click menu of the template node in the explorer tree).
- To create a new template folder, select the desired parent folder in the user-defined templates subtree and select New -> Template Folder from the menu (or go via the right-click menu of the parent template folder in the explorer tree).
The left pane displays the LISTSERV Maestro explorer tree, with the "User-Defined Templates" and "System Templates" subtrees. The first subtree contains all user-defined click-and-fill templates, the second subtree contains all predefined system click-and-fill templates..
The pane on the right shows a preview of the currently selected template.
Depending on the template, there may be up to two preview tabs: HTML Preview and Text Preview, which show the previews for the respective mail body types.
The top-right corner of the pane also shows the current state of the template.:
- Enabled: The template is complete and enabled. It is ready to be used
in the message content of a mail job.
- Disabled: The template is complete but disabled. Because it is disabled,
it cannot be used in a mail job, even though it is already complete. This is useful if you have complete
templates that nonetheless shall not yet be used in a mail job.
- Incomplete: The template is not yet complete (only applicable for user-defined templates). It is still under construction and can therefore also not be used in a mail job.
